Global Careers Workshop

This workshop is for anyone applying for globally-related jobs or internships, abroad or domestic. Learn from both the employer’s perspective and from the applicant’s perspective, what should be included in your resume and cover letters, how to sell your international experience, and what it’s like to navigate the interview process. Coffee, pastries, and a pizza lunch provided! No RSVP required.
9:30-10:00am – Coffee and pastries (atrium)
10:00-10:05am – Welcome remarks by Dr. Jonathan Hartlyn, Senior Associate Dean for Social Sciences and Global Programs (Nelson Mandela Auditorium)
10:05-11:20am – “The Employer’s Perspective:” General session with Dr. David Patton, Executive Vice President, American Councils for International Education (Nelson Mandela Auditorium)
11:30am-12:45pm – “The Applicant’s Perspective:” Breakout sessions led by UNC alumni according to world region:
o Africa
o Asia
o Western Europe
o Slavic, Eurasian, and Eastern Europe
o Middle East
o Latin America
12:45-1:30pm – Pizza reception (atrium). Mingle with speakers and meet with UNC Career Services.
