Executives in Residence – Eligibility Criteria
Executives in Residence can be working or retired executives, or successful business owners who are recognized as leaders within their industry. Appointments are approved by CareerWell and Graduate School Dean Suzanne Barbour for renewable one-year terms. University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill alumni status is not required, but an Executive in Residence must meet the following criteria:
- Track record of leading business or corporate ventures.
- Willingness to assist Carolina graduate students with networking and promote career opportunities through internships and full-time positions.
- Availability throughout the academic year to provide composite mentoring of graduate students by teaching courses and/or leading other key professional development activities (e.g., lunch leadership sessions, seminars, workshops).

If selected, CareerWell will establish activities and events in which the Executive in Residence will participate, based on the Executive’s interests and program needs. Please note: salary, office space, and computer are not provided through this opportunity.
