Three Minute Thesis Competition – Preliminary Rounds

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland (UQ). The exercise challenges graduate students to present a compelling oration on their thesis topic and its significance in just three minutes. 3MT® develops academic, presentation, and research communication skills and supports the development of research students’ capacity to effectively explain their research in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.
The preliminary rounds of the 3MT® will take place on Tuesday Oct 23 and Wednesday Oct 24th from 3:00-5:00pm at the Graduate Student Center. Final round of 10 finalists will be Tuesday October 30 from 4:00-5:30pm. Bondurant G100.
Master’s and Doctoral students enrolled at UNC from any discipline are welcome to register and participate. All are welcome to serve as audience members throughout the competition’s preliminary and final rounds.
