Mentoring undergrads in STEM research (for graduate and post-graduate students)(in person)
October 9 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Mentoring undergraduate students is a common practice in academic research labs. This workshop is tailored for graduate and post-graduate trainees who are currently mentoring or will be mentoring undergraduates. The workshop will focus on strategies to help you support your mentee/s development in areas like effective communication, setting expectations and goals, and fostering motivation.
The workshop will use case scenarios and evidence-based practices, and you’ll be encouraged to actively participate in discussions. Please bring any questions or specific situations from your own mentoring experiences to share and discuss with the group. To register, please visit the event’s Heel Life page. Space is limited and reserved for graduate and post-graduate trainees.
