Instructor Talk: Building Rapport and Engaging Students in the Classroom

NEW for 2016!  Instructor’s non-content related communication with students is important to establish and create a more inclusive classroom. Building trust and responding to students’ learning needs are crucial for a successful learning experience.  Participants will learn about how and what to say as instructors to address immediacy, promote student-centered learning and overcome student resistance. Participants will analyze their own use of Instructor Talk and determine most effective strategies. Lunch provided.
