Emotional Intelligence: An Important Aspect of Leadership

January 7, 2014 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Emotional intelligence is a critical component of leadership that impacts the way in which we navigate the challenges in both our professional and personal lives. One’s “emotional quotient” or “EQ” refers to the non-cognitive skills and abilities that help us deal with the personal, social and survival aspects of our experiences.  In this interactive workshop, you will learn what is meant by “emotional intelligence” (and it is NOT emotions!), identify your strengths and weaknesses within the various areas of emotional intelligence, and set goals for how to strengthen your EQ.  More specifically, this presentation will:

● Define and develop participants’ understanding the concept of emotional intelligence (EI).

● Examine the components that are core to emotional intelligence and how these impact people in their professional and personal relationships.

● Identify how EI impacts leadership in an organization.

● Educate the audience about the various aspects of EI and their level of strength in each of these areas.

Facilitated by Rhonda Sutton, Ph.D., LPC, InnerSights Counseling and Consultation
