Caring for Your Online Presence as an Academic

For better worse, people are more likely to find out about you and your work via the web than just about any other way. While it is nearly impossible to control every aspect of your online presence, there are some relatively simple things you can do make the web work for you and not against you.

Participants in this workshop will be able to:

• Thoughtfully and purposefully use online tools including social networking sites as a professional academic
• Make informed decisions about which social networking tools to use and how to use them
• Take simple steps toward controlling what happens when people search for them online
